The US has never ruled out military options on the North Korean issue, US Vice President Mike Pence has stated.
“We’ve never excluded the military option,” Mike Pence told Fox News.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the so-called “Libyan model” regarding North Korea’s denuclearization would be applied “if we do not reach an agreement” with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in negotiations scheduled for June 12 in Singapore.
The “Libyan model”, of course, implies the destruction of a sovereign state for refusing to tail US policy even after agreeing to and carrying out de-nuclearization, as was the case with Gaddafi’s Libya.
Meanwhile, Yonhap news agency has reported that North Korea has threatened to cancel the next meeting between Trump and Kim Jong-un over joint Washington-Seoul military exercises, which began on May 11th in South Korea.
However, the US President has said that the United States is still preparing for the summit, since the US has not received any notification from Pyongyang that the meeting is cancelled.
