A senior military source in the Syrian Army has said that soon in the country, which has been the scene of a violent imperialist-backed war, events will occur that will “surprise everyone.”

According to the source, the head of the Syrian army ordered the total annihilation of terrorists in the country.

“At the moment, the army has enough forces to liberate the province of Idlib, which will be the key event to end the eight-year war in the country. The terrorists themselves have signed their death sentence,” said the source.

The source added that the units of the Syrian Army in the border zone with the province of Idlib have been successfully rejecting all the attacks of the radicals.

“The army posts have a high level of combat readiness and are ready for any actions, whether it is the defense of positions or to be on the offensive,” the military source explained.

Terrorist forces in Idlib province are weakened by internal strife. Over the past eight months, as a result of several clashes between groups of combatants, nearly 8,000 radicals were killed. For the most part, they are members of the Tahrir al-Sham and the Al-Qaeda affiliated Jabhat Fateh al-Sham groups.

Yet, despite killing each other and many of the groups being Al-Qaeda affiliated, anti-Syrian states pretend that they are moderate rebels capable of ruling Syria in an imaginary post-Assad situation.

Idlib province was overrun by terrorist forces in 2015 after they mobilized in Turkey and stormed the border and Syrian Army positions. This saw the complete removal of government forces from the entirety of the province with the exception of the Shi’ite towns of Fua and Kefraya. Fua and Kefraya was finally evacuated in a deal just days ago that saw the entire local population, the Syrian Army, local forces and airdropped Hezbollah fighters that defended the town despite being completely besieged for years.
