The Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office has filed suit on to strip the Russian language of regional status in the occupied territory of the Donetsk Peoples Republic.
The prosecutor’s office of the occupied part of the Donetsk People’s Republic (the so-called “Prosecutor’s Office of the Donetsk Region.” – Ed.) demands that the decision of the regional council, by which the Russian is a recognized regional language, be abolished. The office has published this on their Facebook page.
The prosecutorial apparat refers to the decision of the Donetsk Regional Council of September 16, 2012 No. 6 / 14-346 “On the implementation of the requirements of the Law of Ukraine” On the foundations of the state language policy ” in the Donetsk region in the territory of the region along with the Ukrainian language as the state language recognized Russian as a regional language.
Yet, on February 28, 2018, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine declared the law inadequate to the Constitution of Ukraine.
“Still, the Donetsk Regional Council has not taken any measures to abolish the decision it adopted,” the prosecutor’s office said.
“To rectify the revealed violations by the Donetsk region in the Donetsk district administrative court, a claim has been filed in the interests of the state on recognizing the decision as unlawful and invalid,” the report said.
Earlier today, the government of Ukraine decided to appeal to the NSDC about imposing personal sanctions against Russian publishers.
Also today, the Ukrainian Nazi Larisa Nitsoy proposed to involve the police in eradicating the Russian language in Western Ukraine.
Recall, on September 18, the Lvov regional council voted to ban the public use of Russian-language “cultural products” in the region. The decision was supported by 57 parliamentarians with 47 necessary.
On August 20, the Ministry of Information of Ukraine warned citizens that they would begin to impose the study of the Ukrainian language on radio.
At the same time on the same day the ambassadors of Canada and Great Britain condemned the ban of the Russian language in the Lvov region.
We add that earlier Nitsoy declared that the Ukrainian authorities need to embark on methods of encouragement and punishment for introduction of the Ukrainian language in all spheres of a life of citizens of the country. She also told how she imposed penalties for the Russian language in the children’s camp.
Earlier, a textbook on the Russian language brought the Ukrainian propagandist and Nazi Nitsoy to hand-wringing. The scandalist used obscenities speaking about the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Grinevich for the decision to return a textbook on the Russian language to the country’s schools.
Note also that a survey conducted in the winter of last year in Ukraine revealed that only 5% of Ukrainians do not use Russian.
