“Today, by a majority of votes, Parliament adopted a law establishing the borders between Ingushetia and Chechnya. Now we have a border. The decision made is in the interests of our republic, the interests of its peaceful existence and good neighborliness. I ask you all not to worry, to think soberly and not to give in to emotional impulses. I know about provocations of quite specific people who hide behind good deeds. I once again urge the people of the republic to look at the faces of those who call you for unrest. I have always acted, relying not on today, but on the future. I did not go on about the emotions. And so I do now. I do not hide behind backs, I express my opinion, clearly understanding all the responsibility that lies on me. I am grateful to the leadership of the Chechen Republic for the fact that they. like us, found the strength to sit at the table, to make a decision. My colleague Ramzan and I, as heads, and our teams, at this stage will be criticized by those who do not understand the scale of this decision. I thank the deputies of the Parliament, the Commission on Borders, the poeple of the Republic of Ingushetia, the heads of the m. o. and the s.p. And all those who dealt with understanding and supported our decision. I advise everyone who believes that lland has been sold, or settlements are given away, not to make marches of dissent and car rallies, but to drive and walk along the border, to make sure that they remain as they were in the 90s,” Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, head of Ingushetia wrote on his instagram page.

Recall, on September 26, the Heads of Ingushetia and Chechnya, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and Ramzan Kadyrov, signed an agreement on securing the administrative border between the regions, which was not clearly established from the time of the collapse of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1991. The document provides for an equivalent exchange of territories.
