Russian Officers Arrive in India for ‘Indra 2018’ Joint Military Exercises

An advanced group of Russian officers from the Eastern Military District arrived in the capital of India to participate in the preparation of joint Russian-Indian maneuvers dubbed “Indra 2018”.

“During the work the delegation of officers of the Eastern Military District will carry out the inspection and approval of the locations of the Russian military as well as the war equipment that the Indian side will offer during the joint maneuvers,” the spokesman for the military entity Aleksandr Gordeev told reporters.

According to information from the Eastern Military District, the Russian-Indian exercises will be held this year in India from November 18 to 28.

Russia plans to involve about 250 soldiers from a motorized infantry unit in the Primorye region in the simulation.

Indra anti-terrorist exercises have been held since 2003. The previous edition was held last year in the Russian Far East.

This is a greater part of closer military relations between Russia and India.
