Donetsk Militia Denounces Ukrainian Military Build-up in Donbass

DONETSK, DPR – The People’s Militia of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk (DPR) has denounced the reinforcement of the Ukrainian forces’ grouping in Donbass, said the head of the organization’s press office, Daniil Bezsonov.

“Our intelligence continues to record the reinforcement of the armed detachments of Ukraine in all tactical directions. According to the data obtained, yesterday at the train station of Kostiantynivka, three trains were unloaded,” said Bezsonov.

According to the spokesman, in Kostiantynivka two freight trains arrived with equipment and personnel from the second battalion of parachutists from the 25th aerial landing brigade and one with ammunition for the artillery detachment of that unit.

Bezsonov also stressed that this unit is located 10 kilometers from the city of Yasinovataya, which is under the control of the RPD and is close to Donetsk.

This comes as last month Russian Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Aleksandr Lukashevich, revealed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with the help of Western intelligence, are preparing a provocation in Donbass with the use of chemical weapons.

The envoy noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had deployed several missile systems in the line of contact with the separatist republics of Donbass, while the bombing of settlements also intensified.

Previously, the People’s Militia of Donetsk had reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been planning for an early December offensive aimed at reaching the Russian border. To this end, Ukrainian forces would be positioning their artillery systems, including Grad rocket launchers, in the Mariupol region, the organization said.

The conflict in eastern Ukraine between the self-proclaimed Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk and Ukrainian authorities has killed more than 10,000 people since April 2014. The peace agreement signed in Minsk in 2015 helped to reduce hostilities but the clashes continue.

“Information has emerged about the preparation of a provocation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the use of chemical weapons and the involvement of foreign intelligence services,” Lukashevich told a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.
