Published 2019-02-05 21:00:39 by Paul Antonopoulos in Headline-News, Libya, Mena

MOSCOW, Russia – In an exclusive interview with RIA Novosti, Hannibal Gaddafi, one of the sons of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, revealed how he was kidnapped in Syria and eventually imprisoned in Lebanon, and explained what he really knows about the disappearance of the famous Shi’ite leader Musa at-Sadr. The desecration of the Libyan flag in Beirut and the refusal of Libya to participate in the Arab League summit in Lebanon provoked a crisis in relations between the two countries. The Lebanese Shi’a party Amal does not want the presence of official representatives of Libya in Beirut to obtain… Continue ->

Does Japan wants Russian islands for the US military?

Published 2019-02-05 19:00:20 by Paul Antonopoulos in Anglo-5, Eurasia, Headline-News, Japan, Russia, United-States

KURIL ISLANDS, Russia – The four Russian islands in the Kurilish archipelago, claimed by Japan, would be the ideal places to deploy North American missiles, reports the Japan Business Press (JBP), noting that the installation of air defense systems on the islands would strengthen US defense and Japan against ballistic missiles from North Korea. The publication states that in order to increase the chances of knocking down a ballistic missile, it needs to be attacked in the initial stage after its launch – even before the warheads are separated. Therefore, the most suitable place for the positioning is the Russian… Continue ->

On The Curiously Contradictory Complaints Against Tulsi Gabbard

Published 2019-02-05 18:00:55 by Curwen Ares Rolinson in Anglo-5, Headline-News, Opinions, United-States

[Author’s Note: This piece was initially penned a week and a half ago; and while the vagaries of international correspondence mean that it is only now seeing publication, the unfolding developments of the last few days have rendered its perspective of heightened relevancy] Politics, much like the ethically-challenged tawdry celebrity gossip-rags it occasionally so closely resembles, is a field in which “Truth” (or even, simply, ‘internal cohesiveness’ of an argument or a position) is often only a tertiary consideration. With some measure of “effectiveness” (especially of a slur) as a secondary, and “the venting of highly emotive vitriol” an unabashed… Continue ->

Russian tanks would be a nightmare for NATO if World War III erupts

Published 2019-02-05 17:00:34 by Paul Antonopoulos in Eurasia, Headline-News, Nato, Russia

MOSCOW, Russia – In the event of a World War III, the Russian Army will soon crush NATO forces in Europe, warns Petri Maekelae, who specializes in analyzing warfare techniques in Russia and Scandinavia in the Daily Star newspaper. The expert particularly highlights the powerful Russian army tank , which, in his view, far outweighs the capabilities of the Alliance countries. He notes that Russian tank units are very diverse and, although some models were created during Soviet times, they pose a great threat to the enemy. In addition, Maekelae points out that most NATO countries have made numerous tank… Continue ->

TRYING TO HIDE SOMETHING? Anti-Venezuela Group BANS Russian, Alt-Media From Attending

Published 2019-02-05 13:00:11 by Paul Antonopoulos in Anglo-5, Canada, Eurasia, Headline-News, Latin-America, Russia, Venezuela

OTTAWA, Canada – Canada’s refusal to accredit Sputnik and RIA Novosti correspondents to cover the Lima Group’s ministerial meeting on Venezuela is a “politically motivated process,” the Russian Embassy in Canada said Monday. “The decision by the Canadian Foreign Ministry to deny accreditation to Russian media at the so-called Lima Group meeting in Ottawa seems shameful and deserves resolute condemnation. The harassment directed at Sputnik and RIA Novosti news agencies, as well as the TASS correspondent duly accredited in Canada, runs counter to Canada’s declared commitment to freedom of expression and is nothing more than the political persecution of journalists,”… Continue ->
