WASHINGTON DC – The US is working on a package of measures aimed at boosting the alliance’s presence in the Black Sea, US ambassador to NATO Kay Bailey Hutchison said on Tuesday. According to the preliminary data, the package will be presented to the other NATO member countries during the next NATO meeting in Washington and provides for increased vigilance and the sending of more alliance vessels to the Black Sea. “We have been working on a package to present to the foreign ministers and it is a package with surveillance, with air surveillance, as well as more of the… Continue ->

In the mid-1990s, a series of exposés featured on the London Independent and elsewhere brought a dark secret to light. Many were startled by the revelation that the entire evolution of 20th century modern art was directed in large measure by the CIA! This not only included the direct financing of abstract painters like Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko, whose works now regularly sell for over $100 million apiece, but also powerful literary magazines like Salon and Encounter, interpretive dance schools, and the remarkably ugly a-tonal music of Arnold Schoenberg. The instrument selected to re-shape western cultural tastes in the wake… Continue ->

The idea that the creation of ethnically-homogeneous spaces, or a homeland for a given national group, is a viable solution to inter or intra-state… Continue ->

TOKYO – The government of Japan has informed Russia that it opposes military exercises in the region of the Kuril Islands, Kyodo news agency reported, citing representatives of the Japanese Foreign Ministry. “It is incompatible with our position in the northern territories,” diplomats said. The protest note was sent through diplomatic channels after Russia notified Japan on April 2 of plans to carry out the exercises between April 4 and 12. In March, Russia has already held the exercises in the region with the participation of about 500 people. For decades, Tokyo has conditioned the signing of the peace treaty… Continue ->

With the dramatic failure of the Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal and NASA’s incredible revelations that industrial growth has increased biodiversity on the earth, a powerful paradox has presented itself. For decades we have been told that humanity’s industrial activity is the direct cause of global warming and trillions of dollars have been directed to subsidize inefficient windmill farms, bio-fuels and solar panels- raising the costs of electricity and abysmally reducing the powers of production of nations. The question must be asked: IF money drives capitalism, why have trillions been spent over the past decades to fund “green” activities… Continue ->

MOSCOW – According to the latest data, in 2018 the Russian Central Bank increased its reserves in Chinese currency, while the share of the dollar fell twice. Why is Russia actively replacing dollar-denominated assets with other yuan-denominated assets and how is the rest of the world preparing to weaken the dollar’s role? In the last year the Russian Central Bank increased its reserves denominated in yuan by 17 times. In the third quarter of 2018, the share of the Chinese currency in the Bank of Russia portfolio increased from 11.6% to 13.6%, to US$62.5 billion, while US securities fell from… Continue ->

WASHINGTON DC – The United States continues to perform poorly in military exercises and the situation does not seem very easy to reverse, since it would seem that it would take about $24 billion a year to reverse the more serious problems. “In our games, when we fight Russia and China,” RAND analyst David Ochmanek said, “blue gets its ass handed to it.” In other words, in RAND’s wargames, which are often sponsored by the Pentagon, the US forces — colored blue on wargame maps — suffer heavy losses in one scenario after another and still can’t stop Russia or… Continue ->

CARACAS – Venezuelan Vice Chancellor Yván Gil has stated that Russian military specialists will remain in Venezuela as long as necessary, there are no concrete deadlines. Moreover, he explained that the arrival of new Russian military groups in Venezuela under existing military agreements is more than likely. “They will remain in Venezuela for as long as it takes to keep all military equipment in operational condition, but there are no concrete deadlines, and new military missions will probably arrive under previously signed agreements,” said Yván Gil. The diplomat stressed that the country’s government is ready to defend itself against external… Continue ->

CARACAS – Venezuelan justice has initiated criminal proceedings against Venezuelan self-proclaimed interim president, opposition leader Juan Guaidó, Julio García Serpa, head of the Constitutional Assembly Legislation Committee, announced. According to him, the process will be conducted by the Supreme Court and the attorney general. On Tuesday, the Constituent Assembly approved the continuation of the investigation process against Guaidó. José Goulão, in O Lado Oculto NATO: SEVEN DECADES OF LIES, WAR AND BLOOD José Goulão To mark the significance of NATO’s 70th anniversary perhaps it would be enough to look at the 18-year war that devastates Afghanistan, or the chaos in which Libya remains plunged, or the violations of international law sponsored by the organization in the Balkans, notably the terrifying dismemberment of Yugoslavia. Maybe that would be enough … But we would be far from doing justice to the breadth and longevity of an increasingly global and essentially gangster behavior such as that which characterizes the alliance. The… Continue ->
