BRUSSELS – The European Union foreign ministers approved on Monday the imposition of sanctions against Turkey after the country’s decision to continue exploration for hydrocarbons in Cyprus, local press reported. Turkish Yavuz and Fatih drilling vessels are currently anchored off the coast of Cyprus to drill for oil and gas. Both Cyprus and Greece see this as a provocation and the European Union has asked Turkey to close the operation of the ships. KIEV – The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine accused Hungarian authorities of interfering in the internal affairs of Kiev on Monday. DONETSK – Kominternovo never gets a break. Shelling and small arms fire have been incessant for the last 5 years. There have been three major attacks last week only. On July 6 an Orthodox church was shelled and on July 7 there was a white phosphorus attack. “Whatever didn’t get destroyed by shelling simply burns down… There is simply no place for living on this street,” a resident noted bitterly. DONBASS – Residental areas of the Gorlovka suburb of Zaitsevo have been under attack for more than 5 years in a row. “Two houses are completely destroyed, just two houses from me.
