WASHINTONG, D.C. – The Chinese foreign ministry announced on Tuesday that China had no intention of intervening in US domestic affairs when asked about President Donald Trump’s suggestion that Beijing investigates his Democratic rival Joe Biden and his son. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Geng Shuang made the comment at a regular news briefing, World News reported. Also on Friday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that Beijing “will not interfere in the internal affairs of the US”. “We trust that the American people will be able to sort out their own problems,” The Global Times reported Wang as saying. Trump told… Continue ->

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a fairly blunt warning to the NATO ally, US President Donald Trump vowed to “obliterate” the Turkish economy if he thinks it’s stepped out of line in Syria. “If Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off-limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!)” Trump threatened via tweet on Monday – an odd turn of phrase for what otherwise seemed like a dire warning to a supposed ally, RT reported. Trump called for Turkey to join “Europe and others” in “watch[ing] over the… Continue ->

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The US administration is looking into the possibility of withdrawing from the Open Skies Treaty, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs Eliot Engel stated on Monday. “I am deeply concerned by reports that the [Donald] Trump Administration is considering withdrawing from the Open Skies Treaty and strongly urge you against such a reckless action,” the US lawmaker said in a letter to White House National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien. “This treaty has provided important military transparency for its 34 signatory countries since it entered into force in 2002. American withdrawal would only benefit Russia and… Continue ->

By Russell “Texas” Bentley – The recent big news about Zelensky signing the “Steinmeier Formula” of the Minks II Agreement has raised eyebrows and ruffled feathers on both sides of the conflict, but is it really such a big deal? And haven’t we learned a lesson about Russians signing treaties with nazis before? What are the results and advantages, if any, of this latest development? . The Steinmeier Formula is basically a simplified version of the Minsk Agreement, with a timeline for implementing the four major points – 1) elections to be held in the Donbass Republics, 2) confirmation of… Continue ->

CARACAS – Venezuela’s troops will remain deployed on the border with Colombia despite the end of military drills, President Nicolas Maduro stated. “I made a decision to extend the second phase of the orange level of threat and the deployment of our armed forces,” Maduro said during his speech broadcast on Twitter, TASS reported. “No armed groups will be able to freely stay in Venezuela. There is no place for Colombian violence on our country’s soil,” Maduro stressed. Venezuelan armed forces carried out drills on the border with Colombia on September 10-28. Ahead of the maneuvers, Maduro had also declared… Continue ->

By Cynthia Chung For some this subject may be considered old news, but in truth it just slithered back into the dark before you could take a good look at its face. As the story goes, Meng Wanzhou was arrested at the Vancouver (Canada) airport Dec 1, 2018, on her way from Hong Kong to Mexico City and ultimately Buenos Aires. Her arrest was based off of the accusation that she had lied to the HSBC executive at a 2013 meeting meant to reassure the bank that Huawei was not violating US sanctions against Iran. Meng Wanzhou CFO and Ren… Continue ->
