Published 2019-10-18 17:30:44 by Paul Antonopoulos in Anglo-5, Eurasia, Greece-Eurasia, Headline-News, Russia, Turkey, United-States

Greek-U.S. relations have entered “a new era” with U.S. Secretary of State stating earlier this month that he has “come to Greece to expand the partnership that’s already at the best level it has ever been.” He followed up this statement in a tweet, saying “A strong and prosperous Greece is good for the Greek people and good for America.” Why? Well during Pompeo’s trip to Greece, he finalized a new deal with the newly-elected Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the U.S. to open 3 new military bases in the Aegean country, but most importantly, a naval presence in the… Continue ->

Novorosinform Andrei Hunko, deputy in the German Bundestag with Ukrainian roots, and deputy chairman of the United European Left Faction in the PACE, has insisted on closing the scandalous Peacekeeper website. The deputy recounted his personal letter to Ukrainian President Zelensky on his own website: “Last week, in a personal letter, I called upon the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. In my appeal, I clearly identified topics such as political repression in Ukraine and the criminal website Peacekeeper, and attached a list of political prisoners and political prisoners. These are two big problems that the new president received as a… Continue ->

US military secrets may fall into Russian and Syrian hands with their withdrawal

Published 2019-10-18 16:30:12 by Paul Antonopoulos in Anglo-5, Eurasia, Headline-News, Mena, Russia, Syria, United-States

The United States has not had a clear strategy in Syria since the beginning, which has created the risk of intelligence leaking to its competitors after leaving the country, according to an anonymous US defense official quoted by the media. Despite claims that US operations in Syria were focused on combating ISIS rather than engaging in civil war, the United States failed to prevent this. The United States’ choice to continue supporting Kurdish fighters meant that the US could no longer remain a bystander in the Syrian conflict. While the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) do not have formal intelligence to… Continue ->

Nuclear and Underwater: Military Magazine Names ‘Doomsday’ Russian Weaponry

Published 2019-10-18 14:30:34 by Paul Antonopoulos in Defense, Eurasia, Headline-News, Russia

WASHINGTON – National Interest magazine described Russian strategic nuclear submarine cruiser Yuri Dolgoruky as a true doomsday weapon. The author of the matter recalled the successful launch of four missiles Bulava ballistic White Sea in a test area on the Kamchatka peninsula at the end of May 2018, having covered more than 5,600 km. Bulava has an unusual flight path, making interception difficult, and can be fired while the [class] Borei submarine is in motion. The 40-tonne missiles can launch up to 40 decoys to try to deflect fire from the projectiles anti-ballistic missile systems, such as the mid-range ground-based… Continue ->

U.S. imposes record $7.5 billion tariffs on EU imports

Published 2019-10-18 13:51:03 by Paul Antonopoulos in Anglo-5, Eu, Eurasia, Finance, Headline-News, United-States

Earlier this month, the World Trade Organization (WTO) determined that Washington could impose tariffs on European Union products worth $7.5 billion. The tariffs in question were introduced as a punitive measure for what the WTO determined to be illegal subsidies to the aerospace company Airbus, which had adverse effects on U.S. rival Boeing. On Friday, the U.S. complied with the ruling and imposed tariffs on EU goods valued at $7.5 billion targeting the aeronautical and agricultural sectors and covering such products as cheese, Italian and French wine, reports AFP agency. The European Union has repeatedly warned Washington that it would… Continue ->
