JERUSALEM – Israel deported the director of the international NGO Human Rights Watch (HRW) for Israel and Palestine, Omar Shakir, for allegedly supporting the boycott campaign against Israel. HRW has claimed that with the expulsion of Shakir, Israel has placed itself in the “ugly club” of authoritarian regimes. Shakir lost a trial this month before the Supreme Court of Justice of Israel that focused on the ability of the State to expel those who criticize him. The Israeli government refused to renew Shakir’s visa and this November 25 was the deadline for leaving the country. At a press conference in… Continue ->

Reducing the Malignant Exposure to US Dollar

Published 2019-11-25 16:00:06 by Drago Bosnic in Anglo-5, China, Eurasia, Finance, Headline-News, Iran, Mena, Politics, Russia, United-States

The mainstream media is mainly focusing on the daily events relating to the trade war between the US and China to understand what kind of consequences and impact it will have on the economy and on global politics. What has not received adequate coverage is the tectonic movements that countries such as Iran, China and Russia are making in order to reduce their reliance on the US dollar. The current global financial system is highly dollar-centric and larger emerging and developed economies aim to move to a multipolar reserve currency world. Among them, Iran, China and Russia are the most… Continue ->

Published 2019-11-25 15:00:45 by Drago Bosnic in Anglo-5, Color-Revolution, Crime, Eu, Headline-News, Isis, Mena, Nato, Politics, Syria, United-Kingdom, United-States

HAGUE – The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) concluded in March that chlorine was most likely used in the suspected April 2018 attack on the city of Douma, which lies on the northeastern outskirts of the Syrian capital. Three countries – the United States, the United Kingdom and France – carried out airstrikes against Syrian government targets, justifying their assault by claiming that the chemical weapons were allegedly used by the Syrian Arab Army, Sputnik reported. Wikileaks revealed that the OPCW’s redacted version of the so-called fact-finding report on Douma’s events had been intentionally doctored, misrepresenting the… Continue ->

Published 2019-11-25 14:00:16 by Drago Bosnic in Anglo-5, Defense, Estonia, Eu, Eurasia, Finland, Headline-News, Nato, Politics, Propaganda, Russia, United-States

TALLINN – Estonian Interior Minister Mart Helme of the Conservative People’s Party said in an interview with Finnish newspaper Iltalehti that the Baltic countries would prepare a “contingency plan” because there was no longer any hope for NATO and that the alliance was in crisis. The country’s prime minister, Jüri Ratase, reiterated that all of Estonia’s plans come down to NATO membership, but only in the case that the alliance is sustainable, according to the Estonian television’s ERR website. According to Mart Helme, a back-up plan is needed because the government cannot hope that NATO will guarantee Estonia’s territorial integrity… Continue ->

STUDY: Obesity, Metabolic Disease – Little Known Protein

Published 2019-11-25 13:00:57 by Drago Bosnic in Anglo-5, Headline-News, Science, United-States

With unexpected findings about a protein that’s highly expressed in fat tissue, scientists at Scripps Research have opened the door to critical new understandings about obesity and metabolism. Their discovery, which appeared Nov. 20 in the journal Nature, could lead to new approaches for addressing obesity and potentially many other diseases. The signaling protein, known as PGRMC2, had not been extensively studied in the past. Short for “progesterone receptor membrane component 2,” it had been detected in the uterus, liver and several areas of the body. But the lab of Enrique Saez, Ph.D., saw that it was most abundant in… Continue ->

Pakistan seems to support Turkey, but one must know what it is asking for in Cyprus and the Aegean – especially since it is thousands of kilometers away and is demanding the rights of Kashmir. Recently, apart from illegal immigration, which is by far the most serious threat not only to Greece but to the whole of Hellenism, two relatively new and in many unknown issues concern the Greeks. One is the statements of US President Nicolas Burns, who served in the highest levels of the US Foreign Ministry but also as an ambassador to Athens, where, according to Greek… Continue ->

LUXEMBOURG CITY – Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn urged the European Union to recognize Palestine as a State to respond to US policy regarding Jewish settlements. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that his country no longer considers that the Jewish settlements established by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank and East Jerusalem violate international law. “The European Union must debate whether it is appropriate for all member countries to recognize Palestine as a State, in this way it could create a counterweight to Trump’s policy,” said the Luxembourg Foreign Minister in an interview with… Continue ->
