Macron’s Great Leap East Revives the Spirit of De Gaulle

Published 2019-12-08 22:04:36 by Matthew Ehret in Anglo-5, Defense, Eu, Eurasia, France-Eurasia, Headline-News, Nato, News, Politics, Russia, United-States

Macron is a going through a crisis. On the one hand he is a creature of the technocratic neo-liberal order which is committed to unilateralism and “post-nation-statism”. On the other hand he is a creature of France – a nation with strong (though easily forgotten) nationalist traditions stretching back to King Louis XI, the founder of the first modern nation state, Cardinal Mazarin who organized the Peace of Westphalia that established modern thoughts on nation states, Jean-Baptiste Colbert who’s economic theories gave meaning to economic sovereignty in the modern era, to Sadi Carnot who’s application of Colbertist economics and resistance… Continue ->

STUDY: More Efficient Computing, With Magnetic Waves

Published 2019-12-08 15:00:43 by Drago Bosnic in Anglo-5, Headline-News, Science, United-States

Cambridge, MA, United States – MIT researchers have devised a novel circuit design that enables precise control of computing with magnetic waves — with no electricity needed. The advance takes a step toward practical magnetic-based devices, which have the potential to compute far more efficiently than electronics. Classical computers rely on massive amounts of electricity for computing and data storage and generate a lot of wasted heat. In search of more efficient alternatives, researchers have started designing magnetic-based “spintronic” devices, which use relatively little electricity and generate practically no heat. Spintronic devices leverage the “spin wave” – a quantum property… Continue ->

What options does the US have against Maduro after Guaido’s failure?

Published 2019-12-08 09:30:21 by Paul Antonopoulos in Anglo-5, Headline-News, Latin-America, United-States, Venezuela

US President Donald Trump has staked his chips on Venezuela’s self-proclaimed interim president, Juan Guaidó, but the failure of this move makes the president’s advisers pursue more aggressive strategies. US Vice President Mike Pompeo earlier this month held a meeting with senior Trump Administration officials to re-evaluate the US strategy adopted a year ago to try to bring about a power shift in Venezuela, sources quoted by Bloomberg said. “Juan Guaido, the National Assembly leader who declared himself interim president of Venezuela with U.S. backing earlier this year, has so far failed to push out Maduro and American officials are… Continue ->

Russia will not interfere with Venezuela’s internal affairs, either on its own initiative or in cooperation with the US, Federation Council Defense Committee Deputy Chairman Franz Klintsevich said. The senator stressed that interference in the affairs of any country is unacceptable. “Russia cooperates with the legitimately elected president of Venezuela, fulfilling all its commitments to the country. The rest is not our concern. Venezuela itself determines the direction of its development and its priorities in foreign policy,” the senator said. “Moscow is ready to cooperate with the US in resolving multiple issues, but not in this one. This is a… Continue ->

Serbian President denies plans to produce weapons with Russia

Published 2019-12-08 05:21:05 by Paul Antonopoulos in Eurasia, Headline-News, Russia, Serbia

BEGRADE – Serbia has no plans to manufacture weapons or missiles in conjunction with Russia, President Aleksandar Vucic told reporters. Shortly before, the Serbian leader examined at the Batajnici military airport outside Belgrade four Mi-35 helicopters, three Mi-17 helicopters and seven recently purchased Airbus H-145s from the aircraft manufacturer. “I can’t confirm it because there is a lot of manipulate with different kinds of information and I can’t act so irresponsibly,” the president said, commenting on media reports that Russia and Serbia will in future produce missiles, armored vehicles, ammunition and Heavy military trucks together. Vucic emphasized that Russia offered… Continue ->

Sociopaths on the Left and Sociopaths on the Right Work to Break Potential US-China Alliance

Published 2019-12-08 01:00:11 by Matthew Ehret in Anglo-5, China, Color-Revolution, Defense, Democracy, Headline-News, Nato, News, Politics

Donald Trump is in a painful bind. The China-bashing traitors within his own party trying to pass themselves off as American patriots have done everything imaginable to destroy the one chance the President has to save America from the policies of economic and social decay which have mis-shaped the past 50 years of world history. Before breaking under the pressure to pass the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act on November 27, Trump attempted desperately to push against the hard liners stating a day earlier: “I stand with Hong Kong, but I also stand with President Xi. He’s a friend of mine,… Continue ->
