BRUSSELS/BAGHDAD – NATO vowed to expand its training operations in Iraq, paused last month after the United States assassinated Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. With growing anger in the country over foreign meddling (especially by the United States), Baghdad is reluctant to OK the plan. “The alliance agreed in principle to enhance its training mission in Iraq after a meeting in Brussels on Wednesday”, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said. When asked whether Baghdad had approved the project, the NATO head came up short, however, RT reported. “NATO is in Iraq on the invitation of the Iraqi Government, and we will only… Continue ->

BEIJING/WASHINGTON, D.C. – Foreign Ministry of the People’s Republic of China completely rejected recent remarks by the United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, calling on Washington to stop blatant slandering of China’s political system, which is an entirely internal matter of China. Ministry Spokesman Geng Shuang on Friday reacted to Pompeo’s remarks in which he said the Communist Party of China (CPC) had infiltrated various levels of America’s infrastructure and that the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in the US played a role in that infiltration, PressTV reported. Speaking at a news briefing, Ministry Spokesman Geng Shuang stressed that Beijing… Continue ->

By Arthur Evans – As expected, Putin’s stark statement on amendments to the constitution regarding the country’s territorial integrity and cementing Russia’s territorial policies so far has been met with harsh condemnation from the US. US Territorial Disputes expert, Krista Wiegand of the Center for Global Security Studies in Tennessee, said Russia does not want to play by international rules and that countries like Japan and Ukraine are at risk. She also negatively assessed Russian claims to Artik. Russia, on the basis of evidence of physical interconnections beneath the sea, has expressed a claim to 1.2 million square kilometers of… Continue ->

In the mid-1990s, a series of exposés featured on the London Independent and elsewhere brought a dark secret to light. Many were startled by the revelation that the entire evolution of 20th century modern art was directed in large measure by the CIA! This not only included the direct financing of abstract painters like Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko, whose works now regularly sell for over $100 million apiece, but also powerful literary magazines like Salon and Encounter, interpretive dance schools, and the remarkably ugly a-tonal music of Arnold Schoenberg. Share Samples of a Pollock (left) and Rothko painting (right) The instrument selected to… Continue ->

DAMASCUS – US troops occupying parts of Syria have come under increasing pressure as Russia and Syria “step up their military presence in the region”, according to the New York Times. It reported that American military and diplomatic officials have said that Russia has been intensifying patrol “run-ins” with US troops and that Russian helicopters are flying closer to US troops as part of an “intensifying pressure campaign”. According to the report, a notable presence of Syrian and Russian drones and other aircraft in the region has also “eroded American air superiority” in the regions where US forces are present….
