Syria: Terrorists Rumoured to Stage Another Chemical Attack

Reports are circulating on social media, saying terrorists, belonging to the so-called “Syrian opposition”, are allegedly trying to stage another chemical attack in the Damascene suburban area of Al Ghouta and put the blame on Hezbollah.

The latter would be accused of gassing the civilians in a retaliation for the killing of about 100 people, mostly Shiites from the villages of Kefraya and Al Fouaa, who lost their lives in a terrorist attack that occurred in Rashedeen, west of Aleppo on Saturday, amid the evacuation process.

The rumours started to spread, following reports, that the terrorists, stationed in Al Ghouta, began distributing gas masks to the residents.

The claims cannot be independently verified.

This would, however, not be the first such example. About a day before the alleged chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun, Idleb  on the 7th of April, some opposition “activists” were flooding social networks with messages about the possible chemical assault somewhere in Syria. A reporter for the TV network Orient News, known to have ties to the jihadist groups, even went as far as to claim that “tomorrow begins a coverage of using the chlorine gas against civilians in Syria”.
