The ex-president of Georgia, and leader of a political party in Ukraine, Mikhail Saakashvili, who is currently extradited to the Netherlands – appealed to the protesters in Kyiv today via video.
“We will have our presidential candidate – one from the people.” He noted that he would never appease anyone, and promised to meet his supporters in Kiev again.
The next parliamentary and presidential elections are scheduled for Ukraine in 2019.
Meanwhile, participants in today’s protest “For the Future” demand the resignation of Poroshenko. After early presidential elections, activists intend to elect parliamentarians for one year who will adopt the necessary laws and amendments to the Constitution.
The protest coincides with the anniversary of the Maidan, which similarly attracted thousands of Right Sector hooligans.
