Russian military plays key role in bringing food to East Ghouta civilians

EAST GHOUTA, Syria – Specialists of the Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Sides in Syria on Thursday delivered hot food for 8,000 citizens in Eastern Ghouta, a spokesman for the center, Major General Vladimir Zolotukhin said, according to TASS.

“Today the Russian servicemen delivered hot food to 8,000 citizens of Eastern Ghouta, and 2,500 food parcels were handed out,” Zolotukhin said.

The reconciliation center focused on providing medical assistance, delivering hot food and also distributing sleeping bags and other essentials among refugees at the checkpoints and camps, the TASS report continued to explain.

This task has become easier since thousands of terrorists have begun to be transferred from East Ghouta to the east of Damascus city center, to jihadist-held Idlib province in Syria’s northwest.
